Policy
New staff members with a start date on or before March 1 of the current year will be eligible for a salary increase in September. New staff members with a start date after March 1 of the current year will not be eligible for a salary increase in September. All new hires will be made aware of whether they are eligible or not in their offer letter.
Rationale
This reflects the fact that these employees will only have been at the college for a few months which doesn’t provide enough time for evaluation of their contributions given that they are still learning their roles and settling into their positions. Some are also under probationary status.
