Remote Summer Parameters

Taubman College offers remote summer work from mid-May to mid-August for most staff whose roles allow it. Please read the following expectations carefully to ensure a smooth experience.

  • For those whose jobs allow for remote work, staff need to work with their supervisor to get written approval and ensure that their job duties can all be performed remotely over the summer or devise a schedule to come into the building when necessary.
  • Working outside of the United States is not permitted, under any circumstance or for any period of time.
  • Staff who work in states outside of Michigan are solely responsible for figuring out any tax implications related to where they work, and they should consult with a tax professional before relocating for any period of time.
  • Staff should routinely be available for meetings during the 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. EDT time frame, regardless of their location. (Note: this refers to availability for meetings, not working hours – a full 8-hour day is expected!)
  • For those whose positions do not allow them to work remotely, the college will provide you with a $600 stipend (paid out in $200 installments over three months subject to applicable taxes) during this timeframe.
