Art and Architecture Building

The Art and Architecture Building provides nearly 240,000 square feet of space equally divided between two academic units of the University: Taubman College and the School of Art & Design. In addition, the Taubman Wing, which was completed in 2017, offers an additional 36,000 square feet of studio facilities, faculty offices, and collaborative learning space.

Classroom Technology at Taubman College

Additional Tools and Student Research Room

Additional Tools Additional tools and equipment available to student in the highbay include a hydralic press, various mig welders, a tig welder, a large brake, a horizontal bandsaw, a drill press, a vertical panel saw, a large gantry and several grinders. Zünd Knife Cutter

The Zund cnc knife cutter is used for wide flatbed cutting of stock that range from cardboard and foam, to leather or textiles. Laser Cutters

The College operates five laser cutter systems. Two LaserCAMM systems are located in the A+AB woodshop and three VLS 6.60 laser systems are located in the west computer lounge, on the 3rd floor. CNC Mill

The FABLab has two vertical metal mills for fabricating precision parts. They are mostly used to manufacture tools and parts for the robots, which allow fabrication of high quality custom tooling prototypes.
