On-Site Staffing

Registration desk – Who will lay out name tents and name badges ahead of the event? Do guests pick up a name badge, or does information need to be captured at check-in and how? That will help determine the number of staff needed, and if they have to be dedicated to being at the registration

Catering

If you need to order food for events, the University offers an extensive list of preferred catering vendors that can deliver food using your approved short code. For some of Taubman College’s preferred vendors, see the full Event Planning Guide. Confirm timing of event, load-in/load-out times, any suspension of food & bar service during program.

Printing

The Taubman College Media Center’s Online Portal provides 24-hour access to submit a variety of print orders. You will need to include billing information with your request.

Audio Visual

Taubman College has A/V Loanable Technology available for use at college events. 

Facilities and Setup

The Taubman College Event Furniture Inventory is subject  to limited availability. If you need to request use of these items, or have other setup needs for your event, please contact the Taubman College facilities team by email at taubmanfacilities@umich.edu. Service requests involving standard services for events should be submitted with a minimum of three weeks’

Promotional Tips

Invitations

Invitation List/Distribution Who is providing and maintaining the list? (Could receive names from various sources.) Request the list in the format you will be using to create the master distribution list – be specific about the information you will need. Determine deadline for receiving list. Guest Speakers

If you’ve invited guest speaker(s) to be part of your event, consider the following logistics in the planning process. Budget Requests

If you need to request additional departmental funding for your event, please submit a request for funding from your program chair by sending it to the designated program assistant. Budget requests should be made as far in advance as possible. What needs to be included in your budget? Rentals, supplies, catering, travel, event promotion, etc.
