Ford Foundation Scholars in Residence Program at The Museum of Modern Art

The Museum requests nominations of individuals for the 2023–24 cohort of Ford Scholars in Residence whose work has substantive implications for expanding and reimagining narratives of modern and contemporary art history. Candidates can be scholars from a wide variety of disciplines with expertise from the time period (late 1800s to the present) and bearing on the subject area of the Museum’s collections in all mediums. Their work may focus on historically underrepresented artists, moments, movements, and geographies, or offer a new lens on more familiar topics. They may also be creative practitioners—composers, choreographers, writers, etc.—whose work offers a compelling perspective for new understandings. Nominators should include 1) a statement or letter of nomination (less than two pages) on the nominee’s contributions; the field-changing impact of their work; and relevance for new narratives of modern and contemporary art; and 2) the nominee’s contact information and CV.
