Remote Access

Virtual Sites. A large number of virtual computers supported by ITS and accessible via a browser. Selecting the “VS GPU” configuration provides access to ArcGIS Pro, AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe applications, SPSS, NVivo, and SketchUP 2025, as well as standard applications like Microsoft Office, browsers, and others. The software runs on the virtual machines, not yours, so it’s a good solution for lower powered laptops or for running Windows applications from a Mac. There are options to connect to your Google and Dropbox storage, as well as an attached USB drive.

Remote Desktop Access to 2109 Lab machines. The College’s 2109 Computer Lab machines are accessible using the Microsoft Remote Desktop Access clients available for Windows (a built-in Windows Accessory – Remote Desktop Connection) and Mac (freely downloadable from the Mac App store — https://apps.apple.com/us/app/microsoft-remote-desktop-10/id1295203466?m…). This provides access to all 2109 Computer Lab applications. Look for the scheduling calendar Taubman College Computer Lab and Study Space for Students for instructions on reserving and accessing these machines.
