6-Axis Robot

The 6-axis robots are industrial machines capable of highly flexible production applications and tool integration. Some work cells are supplemented with additional rotary and linear external axes which give the robots more flexible, reconfigurable, motion control platforms. The tools available to the robotic fabrication processes include grippers, filament and pellet based extruders, hot wire cutters,

5-Axis CNC Router

The 5-Axis router expands the FABLab’s capacity to perform subtractive fabrication of large volumetric parts. The machine also enables complex joinery of parts by allowing undercuts and compound miter cuts. Dimensional Limitations The 5-Axis CNC router has a bed size of 5 feet by 8 feet. These XY dimensions are reduced when using 3+1 and

3D Printers

At Taubman College we currently have four ABS 3D printers available to students. The necessary file can be produced from a variety of different 3D modeling software, such as Rhino, 3DS Max, Maya, and Fusion360. Regardless of what software one is using, the objects must be “watertight,” meaning no open edges. Dimensional Limitations The College

General Information
