Taubman College GSI Class Size Policy

The maximum enrollment capacity of any class is the capacity of the room it is assigned to. For any course not assigned to a classroom (i.e. a remote course), the enrollment cap is set by taking into consideration the pedagogical nature of the specific course.

For classes with discussion/recitation sections, the upper limit is 50 students per section. The maximum ratio of students to GSIs is one GSI to 50 students. For large lecture courses that have a GSI that support the course, the maximum ratio of students to GSIs is one GSI to 85 students.
